Senior Account Manager – Public Relations
Position Description:
We are looking for a unique individual who has the passion and drive to be part of a small team of motivated marketing professionals. Our goal is to develop a results-oriented team and this person will play a key role in defining communications strategies for our varied list of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Play a lead role in developing integrated, strategic client communications and public relations plans and implementing those plans.
- The chosen candidate will be a leader within the agency for strategic planning in all aspects of public relations. Will guide client planning and recommend tactics to achieve marketing goals, communicate key messages and integrate other communications tools such as client Web sites, email programs, advertising, etc.
- Will develop and execute plans that marry traditional PR tactics with fast-changing new media outlets such as blogs and social networking.
- Will have demonstrated experience in gaining positive coverage for clients through story pitching and media relations and in crisis management.
- Must show a proven ability to build relationships with editors and reporters in national trade and business media and writers in new media outlets.
Develop relationships with client personnel, gaining a thorough understanding of clients' products and services.
- Candidate will have background and experience in health care and professional services, preferably in the business-to-business space.
- Will quickly grasp complex and technical material and have the ability to effectively translate that information for communication to lay media and other audiences.
- Must show proven ability to build rapport with clients and to gain their trust. Will serve as public relations advisor, explaining goals, expected outcomes and guiding clients through their role in all public communications.
Provide leadership within the agency for PR/communications initiatives.
- The chosen candidate will work in cross-functional account teams to plan and implement a wide variety of integrated communications initiatives.
- Will serve as a leader within the agency for public relations strategy and will contribute to employee development and service expansions in this area.
- Will be an active public relations professional, keeping current with new opportunities for the agency and its clients.

Professional Background and Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years work experience in an agency or other marketing or public relations planning role with recent strategic execution in media relations and new media.
- Four year College degree. Concentration or Major in marketing, public relations, or communications preferred.
