FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF SINCLAIR & CO. WINS 'WOMEN IN BUSINESS' AWARD
August 19, 2009
RALEIGH – Twenty years after founding the award-winning, full-service advertising agency that bears her name, Karen Sinclair recently was honored for her leadership, business savvy and philanthropic efforts by the Triangle Business Journal.
Sinclair received the publication’s prestigious “Women in Business” award, an annual program honoring the Triangle's most successful professional women.
As president of Sinclair & Co., Sinclair is responsible for recruiting new clients and overseeing its operations. As creative director, she embodies the agency’s artistic philosophy and is involved with all strategic communications work produced, from brand identities to Web sites to advertising.
In an economy in which other agencies have cut back – or closed their doors altogether – Sinclair has secured a number of significant new accounts for her company, including TransEnterix, an emerging medical device company, and Sunstates Security, a regional corporate security services provider.
The agency also has strengthened its relationships with Oso BioPharmaceuticals of Albuquerque, N.M., Buric of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Metrics Inc. of Greenville, as well as Duke Raleigh Hospital, First Citizens Bank and TriSure, all headquartered in Raleigh.
An alumna of Peace College, Sinclair holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sinclair & Co. helps businesses identify brand and marketing strategies; develop integrated Web, print, broadcast and direct media campaigns; execute public- and media-relations efforts; and build stronger customer and employee relationships through effective external and internal communications.
